'Painting' a picture!

Out focus in Writingvis to "paint a picture" in the Readers mind using interesting language; such as adjectives!

This morning we worked in our cooperative groups. Two if us had to yes as many adjectives as possible to describe an illustration, while the other two had to use their best listening and comprehension skills to try and draw the image... The challenge was the the 'drawers' couldn't see the illustration we were describing, so we had to use as many adjectives as possible!

Mr Chicken Goes To Paris!

Its true, Mr Chicken does go Paris and teaches us all about arrays...

The 'RED' thread...

We are currently studying the work of Sigrid Eleanora Ariana for our self-portraits in Ruma Tekau Ma Tahi. This week we explored the first two steps of creating our self-portrait with Sigrid. We are all bringing in something special to remind us of 'who we are' and our whanau whilst we explore our self-portraits for ther rest of Term 1. Koka had set up a table for us and we'll share our special things tomorrow!

The second step was a 'red string' ceremony, which connects us all with the one piece of thread. We shared what we liked about our self, what we liked about someone else in our life, and what we lime about someone else that we would like to have our self.

Now we have our own blue wrist band for the term, or as long as we like!

Everyday arrays, hooray!

Check us out - making arrays (even rows and columns) to: catch a bus, go to church, and watch the circus...!
